Wānanga #02 Details
Ngā Pou Māreikura
Is an interactive space designed to explore atua and wāhine knowledge systems, as well as healing through te taiao. Using five key metaphors, the installation engages all your senses—through animations, sound, textures, and scents—to encourage reflection and discussion. You can listen to kōrero, pūrākau, and poetry, touch different natural elements, and immerse yourself in a safe, wairua-rich environment supported by facilitators.
Each pou poses a question or idea to help you think about your connection to wāhine wisdom, atua, and healing. Videos share stories from wāhine who have explored taiao-based healing, offering inspiration. Together, we will focus on one pou—Ngā Taonga Tuku Iho—by revisiting the story of Mahuika, the atua of fire. This shared experience encourages us to reconnect with ancestral knowledge and reimagine healing in our own lives.
